This unbelievably stunning hardscape required only a special planting palette from us. Bold color combinations, texturally intriguing foliage, and beach hardiness were a few of the desired plant characteristics requested by the clients. At the entrance gate we combined lime green and chocolate colored Coral Bells beneath a dwarf burgundy leafed Japanese maple. Inside the gate and along the pool’s edge, drifts of licorise plant and lamb’s ears wrap around a variety of fragrant sages. Nearby, the purple blooms of the Princess flower provide a bold contrast against a hedge of orange Cape Honeysuckle. In the back yard, against the endless horizon of the Pacific Ocean, native grasses waft in the breeze.
